- Criminal Terms begin, 2nd Monday, Jan., March, May, July, Sept., & Nov.

- Criminal cases set when appealed or at preliminary hearing.

Traffic Violation Payments
Payment of fines and costs may be made in person, online or by mail. Most traffic infractions may be paid prior to the scheduled court date. Payment can be made in the form of cash (in person), personal check, or money order if you elect to prepay your traffic ticket prior to the court date,. Checks and money orders should be made payable to the Henrico General District Court. All in person prepayments must be made no later than 4:00pm the business day prior your court date.
Traffic violation tickets may be paid in person at the Henrico General District Court Clerk’s office, Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The General District Court Clerk’s office is located at the Henrico Government Center, Parham and Hungary Spring Road.
For payment by mail, be sure to include a copy of the summons that was issued by the Henrico County police officer. Attach the check or money order to the summons and mail it to the court. NEVER SEND CASH THROUGH THE MAIL.
The Henrico General District Court does accept payments made with MasterCard/Visa/Discover. A 4% convenience fee will be added for credit/debit card payments.
A traffic ticket may also be paid online by going to the Supreme Court website. Online prepayments will not be accepted after 3:30 p.m. the day prior to your court date. A 4% convenience fee will be added for credit/debt card payments.
Trial in Absentia -If payment is not received by the assigned court date for a traffic infraction, then the judge may conduct your trial in your absence, and impose any fine within statutory guidelines. In addition to the fine imposed and the $66.00 court cost, an additional $35.00 tried in absence fee is assessed. A bill will be mailed to the address on the traffic ticket within 2 business days after the court date. However, it is the responsibility of the defendant motorist to contact the court to find out how much is owed to the court.
Right to Appeal – Appealing a conviction must be done in writing within ten (10) calendar days from the conviction date.
