Terms of Court and General Information
- Criminal and Civil Terms begin Tuesday following 3rd Monday in Jan., 3rd Monday in March, May, July, Sept. & Nov.
- Grand Juries, 1st day of Criminal Term at 9:00 a.m.
- Criminal dockets generally convene at 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.
- Criminal docket call held every term day morning.
- Criminal appeals generally scheduled the 1st and 3rd Tuesday and every Friday.
- Criminal cases set through Commonwealth Attorney on designated days.
- Civil docket call is held on designated afternoons (2PM J&DR, 2:30 GDC) on the “duty” docket for the presiding judge’s assigned cases.
- Civil trials and most hearings are set with Judges’ legal assistants.
- Civil appeals will be scheduled for the presiding Judge’s duty docket call.
- The pre-setting of all cases is strongly encouraged.
